A crackdown on impaired drivers in Dutchess County led to 33 arrests.

During the Memorial Day Crackdown period of May 26 thru May 30, members of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, City of Poughkeepsie Police Department, Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department, Town of Hyde Park Police Department, Town of East Fishkill Police Department, Village of Red Hook Police Department and Village of Millerton Police Department conducted impaired driving details throughout the county.

The objective of this continued enforcement is to revitalize and enhance the visibility of the STOP-DWI Program through coordinated multi-agency impaired driving enforcement details targeting identified statewide crackdown periods, police say.

Carmen Borja-Armas, 52, of Brooklyn was given a felony for allegedly driving drunk with two children in the car in Red Hook. She also received a misdemeanor for DWI.

Theola Patterson, 55, of Poughkeepsie was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony, and a misdemeanor for DWI.

Cassaun Miree, 21, of Poughkeepsie was charged aggravated DWI, a felony, for having a child under 16 in the car and a misdemeanor for DWI.

Roberto Cortes-Cruz, 22, of Poughkeepsie received felonies for DWI, aggravated DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Christopher Earle, 29, from Stormville received a felony for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a misdemeanor for DWI.
