The Hudson Valley is a booming tourist attraction, but no one knows our area's best-kept secrets.

Marie Claire, the lifestyle magazine, recently did a feature story on what to do for a weekend getaway in the Hudson Valley. Naturally, they got it all wrong. The article went for the Instagram-worthy moments, instead of the perfect experience moments.

Here's what they said to do, and what I think they should have said:

Where To Stay

Marie Claire: Scribner's Lodge, Hunter Mountain
Taylor: First off, Hunter is NOT the Hudson Valley. They even said in the article it was the Catskills. I know there's a big debate about what's upstate and downstate, but the Catskills are not in the Hudson Valley.I think they should have stayed at what Forbes Magazine called the 'Most Beautiful Tiny House In The US'.

Where To Eat

Marie Claire:  The Phoenicia Diner, Rip Van Winkle BreweryCircle W, Miss Lucy’s Kitchen, and Love Bites Cafe
Taylor: Again with the Catskills. The Hudson Valley has so many amazing restaurants and eateries to offer, it's hard to pick. But if you're going for the full tourist experience, you obviously need to make a stop at the Culinary Institute of America. You also need to stop at some of the craft breweries, cideries, wineries, and distilleries in the Hudson Valley.

What To Do

Marie Claire: Storm King Art Center, Overlook Mountain, Kaaterskill Falls
Taylor: Surprise, I agree with them on Storm King Art Center. However, you can find awesome nature views in the actual Hudson Valley. Like Minnewaska State Park or Bear Mountain State Park. You definitely need to take in the history of Hyde Park if you're going for the full tourist trip. And obviously, check out the Walkway Over The Hudson.
