Margaret E. Hawley, a Wappingers Falls Resident, Dies at 85

Margaret E. Hawley, 85, of Wappingers Falls, NY passed away on September 24, 2017 at Wingate @ Beacon. She was born on April 8, 1932 in Poughkeepsie, NY, the daughter of James W. & Antoinette Vasta Shaw.
She married Floyd E. Hawley on October 9, 1961 in Sharon, Connecticut. He predeceased her on August 3, 2002. Margaret was a homemaker and a member of the Rochdale Firehouse Women's Auxiliary. She was a loving mother who was known as a great cook and an avid bowler who was a member of the 200 Club.
Survivors include her sons: Robert C. (Karen) Hawley of Wappingers Falls, NY; Mark E. (Dawn) Hawley of Clinton Corners, NY; brother: John Shaw of Saratoga, NY; sisters: Nina(Robert)Ketcham of Florida; Frances "Chi-Chi" Karazas of Arizona and Mary(John) Canevari of Florida. Grandchildren include Bryer Hawley and several more grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her daughter: Lori Ann Hawley in 1979.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 28, 2017, 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Wm. G. Miller & Son FH, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Services will be Friday morning at 10AM in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery.
