Man Who Burglarized Sullivan County Home Sentenced

A man that admitted to burglarizing a Sullivan County home has been sentenced. 

The District Attorney's Office announced Tuesday that Frank Egan, 27, of Livingston Manor, N.Y. was sentenced in Sullivan County Court to 10 years in state prison and 5 years  post-release supervision for a residential home burglary.

Egan entered a guilty plea to Burglary in the second-degree, a Class C violent Felony, and admitted to burglarizing a home in Liberty in January 2017.

Jewelry and cash were stolen from the home while the owner was not home. Egan was arrested after an investigation by the New York State Police who recovered a portion of the stolen jewelry.

Egan was sentenced as a second felony offender having a prior burglary conviction in 2013, receiving a 3 to 6 year state prison sentence.

District Attorney Jim Farrell said:

"This 10 year sentence underscores my commitment to the residents of this county to hold home burglars accountable for their acts.  Our neighbors and friends should not live in fear and if you cause such fear, if you shatter the privacy one expects in their home you will see the inside of a prison cell, you will go to prison and you will be held accountable"
