Local police are hoping for help after several shots were fired and a man was hit in the back.

On Friday around 11:20 p.m., Kingston police responded to Franklin and Prospect Streets for a reported gunshot victim.
Responders found a 45-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the back. The unnamed man was taken to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries.

It appears that the man was involved in an altercation in the area of Van Buren and Prospect Streets, police say. During the dispute several shots were fired.

After being hit by a bullet the man was able to run to the intersection of Franklin and Furnace streets, where he was found by police.
