An Albany man was arrested after he allegedly embezzled $18,000 from a local Veteran's organization. 

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappingers barracks arrested John E. Manning, 82, of Albany, NY for Grand Larceny in the third-degree, a felony.

The investigation revealed that between January 2014 and July 2016, Manning embezzled in excess of $18,000 from a local Veteran's organization, while he was the Treasurer. the incident was reported to the State Police in September of 2016.

Manning was arraigned in the town of Poughkeepsie Court and remanded to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail, or $40,000 bond.

He is schedule back in court later this month, according to a press release.
