A Westchester County school was placed on lockdown following the school's third stabbing in eight days.

New Rochelle High School in Westchester County was placed on lockdown today, Thursday, Jan. 18, after a violent fight broke out between students. According to NBC New York, the fight happened before 9 a.m.

The fight resulted in a 16-year-old being stabbed. He was taken to the hospital with injuries in his torso. To respond to the fight, the school was placed on lockout so no one can enter or leave the building.

Police say a 15-year-old student was caught on video leaving the building after the stabbing. The student was leaving the building on the video as authorities got the 911 call.

This incident is just a week after another girl was stabbed to death in a New Rochelle Dunkin' Donuts last week. According to NBC New York, Valaree Schwab, 16 was stabbed by her classmate Z'inah Brown, 16. Schwab was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and died. Her death is being investigated as a homicide.
