Police say man who was pulled over for a loud exhaust in Putnam County was in possession of a number of drugs.

New York State Police from Brewster arrested 24-year old Forrest T. Rainford, of Pound Ridge for 5th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and a violation for unlawful possession of marijuana.

Troopers say they stopped Rainford on State Route 22 for driving a vehicle with a loud exhaust. During the traffic stop Rainford was allegedly found to be in possession of marihuana, concentrated cannabis and cocaine.

Rainford was arraigned in the Town of Southeast Court and remanded to Putnam County Jail in lieu of $3,500 cash bail or $10,000 bond. He is due to return to Town of Southeast Court on March 8.
