Lori Ann Calkin, 56, of North Myrtle Beach, SC, formally of Middletown, NY passed away on December 9, 2017 in Newburgh, NY following a long illness.

Lori Ann, was born in Liberty, NY to Neal Calkin and Patricia Kanjorski on July 25, 1961. She went to school at Middletown High School, where she was the Statue of Liberty for the Marching Middies.

Lori was a force to be reckoned with. She was fearless and determined to the end. Lori had a huge heart and was kind and loving. Her proudest accomplishment was her children who she loved unconditionally. Lori was a dedicated mother who worked for many years selling Tupperware and eventually won a van for her sales. She also made a mean chili, loved to cook and bake. Lori loved to write and journaled daily. She had a green thumb and her plants and garden always flourished. She was an avid swimmer and enjoyed her summers on the beach at Rio. Lori fulfilled her dreams of living on the beach when she relocated to Myrtle Beach last year.

Lori is survived by her five siblings; Coleen Sorice, Thomas Calkin, Brian Calkin, Tia Calkin and Stephanie Parnett, her five children; Trent, Elliett, Amy, Julianne and Janie, as well as her four grandchildren Camryn, Zoey, Aubrey and Sebastian. Lori also has 7 nieces and 2 nephews.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Alexander Fruchter and staff for their kindness and care they gave to Lori over the years. Lori’s family will forever be grateful to the wonderful staff of The Kaplan Residence in Newburgh, NY who cared for her with compassion and dignity in the last few weeks of her life.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, December 15,2017 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish 90 Euclid Ave. Middletown, NY 10940
