When was the last time you visited your local library? I hadn't thought too much about until a friend asked me to return their books. When I walked and handed the books over the counter to the person at the counter, I suddenly had flashbacks to the amazing memories of the books I have read.

I went online to see if I could get a library card online. The answer was yes and no. I could apply for the library card online, but then I had to go pick up the card in person. I completed the online form in July and finally was able to pick the card up this weekend (3 months later).

Of course with in a matter of minutes, I had 5 things ready to take home. Two audio books, for listening in the car, a book on bathroom remodeling, a book on mentoring and a book on wine tasting. While are the check out counter, I also saw a listing of programs that are available at that particular branch for the month of September. These programs varied, are for all ages, and included sessions on knitting, watercolor painting, writing books, coding for teens and computer basics (just to mention a few of them). This does not even include all of the programs for pre-schoolers and kindergartners.

So next time you are needing info on a project or thinking about where to take the kids on the weekend. Think about your local library.
