Leo D. Lowney, 77, of Wappingers Falls, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center. He was born in Wappingers Falls, August 4, 1939, the son of Cornelius and Margaret O'Riley Lowney. On November 6, 1965, in St. Joachim's Church, Beacon, he was married to Nancy J. Pulcastro, who predeceased him on April 15, 2007. Leo was employed many years as the Village Clerk in Wappingers Falls, having the longest tenure of any village clerk in New York State. Leo was a member of the Wappingers Assembly #0770 4th degree, Knights of Columbus in Wappingers. Surviving are his children, LeeAnne Freno and Paul of Wappingers Falls, Daniel Lowney of Wappingers Falls, Elizabeth Paszkiewicz and Peter of Poughkeepsie, Grandchildren, Sarah, Jacob, Emma, Joshua, Andrew and Olivia, Brothers, John Lowney and Louise of Wappingers Falls, and Cornelius Lowney of Newburgh, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9PM. The Knights of Columbus will have services Sunday evening at 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, Clinton St., Wappingers Falls. Burial St. Mary's Cemetery.
