June Frances Natale of New Windsor, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. She was 84.

June was born in Astoria, Queens on September 20, 1932 to Dora and Ralph Cooper and grew up in idyllic So. Mountain Road, New City, NY. She attended nearby Street School and Congers High School. June married James Natale in March of 1948 and together they raised 4 children in Haverstraw until 1987 when they retired to Meredith, NH. There they enjoyed a wonderful life of leisure, travel and gardening where one day while tending to her vegetable garden, June fiercely stared down an ominous pair of moose. Always together until his death in 2009, June and Jim were active in their communities always lending a helping hand whenever needed. June returned to NY to be near her family in 2015 and easily made many new friends at her new home, the New Windsor Country Inn where she embraced the staff like they were her own. June was a loving and kind wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Our family would like to thank the staff at the New Windsor Country Inn, and the caregivers and Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, for their care and support during this trying time.

June is survived by her loving children, Theresa Andriefski (Gregory) of Haverstraw, NY, Lawrence Natale (Laurie) of Chipley, FL. Victoria Behr (Edward) of Monroe, NY and Merry Jean Kunkel (Thomas) of Newburgh, NY; her grandchildren, Randy Muise, Richard Scozzafava (Meaghan), Jason Scozzafava (Lisa), Lawrence Natale. Nancy Schwerberg (Marius), Thomas Kunkel (Brenda), Kenneth Behr (Kimberly), Alison Kunkel Turshman (Brian), and Nikolaus Behr (Kristin); and nine great-grandchildren soon to be eleven; her nephew Brian Manning, of Westtown, NY and many other nieces and nephews. June was predeceased by her husband James R Natale, her parents Dora and Ralph Cooper, her sister Donna J Manning, and her granddaughter Jessica Muise.

Visitation will be held from 2-5pm on Saturday, June 17 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. There will be a Memorial Service at 4:30pm. Burial will take place on Monday, June 19 at 11am in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Haverstraw, NY.
