Josephine Angeloudis Pericles, 91, of Wappingers Falls, died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She went to be with Our Lord on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.
She was born October 26, 1926 in Beacon, NY to the late Andromache and Constantine Angeloudis. She married her cherished Daniel on April 27, 1947. They were married for 62 years before his passing in 2009. She was also predeceased by her loving daughter, Esther. She was the last living sibling of her large family, brothers Harold, Fred, Jack, Louis, Charles, and sisters Mary Dean, and Ester Sgro (her twin sister).
Josephine was employed at her family-owned Red Apple Restaurant before becoming a homemaker. She also was self-made interior design expert. She was a parishioner of Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church, Poughkeepsie and St. Nicholas Church, Newburgh. Jo was very active in several church activities.
She leaves behind a nephew, Colonel (Dr.) Robert Dean; nieces, Eva Folkert and her husband, Calvin, Judy Sloan, Patricia and Denise; a god daughter, Stephanie Sidote and her husband, Mark and many cherished friends. Extremely close to her were her devoted friends, Penny Bogdonos of Clearwater, Florida, Georgia Kyriacou of Wappingers Falls, and Agnes Tarta of Poughkeepsie.
Family will receive their friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb 15th, 2018 at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, February 16th at Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church, 140 South Grand Avenue, Poughkeepsie. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9, Fishkill.
