John T. Rourke, 87 of Newburgh, retired owner of J & M Adjustments and long time area resident, entered into rest on Saturday, October 14, 2017. The son of the late John and Elizabeth (Cullen) Rourke, he was born May 23, 1930 in Cambridge, NY. He was married to the late Mary Rourke, who predeceased him.

John was a graduate of Greenwich High School and Siena College. He was a faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart Church where he served as an usher, a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and life member of Knights of Columbus in Beacon and Newburgh.

Survivors include his companion, Herta Koenig of Newburgh; son, Kevin Rourke of Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren, Colleen Rourke and Brendan Rourke of Lawrenceville, GA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Mary he was predeceased by siblings, Daniel Rourke, Mary Rutledge and James Rourke.

Visitation will be held from 11:30-12:30 on Tuesday, October 17 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh, with entombment following in Cedar Hill Mausoleum, Newburgh.
