Every September 11, a Hudson Valley woman provides local first responders with free meals.

In a Facebook post, the Kingston Police Department let the rest of the Hudson Valley in on a very generous secret.

Every year on September 11, Maryann DeGroodt, an Ulster County business owner, provides the men and women of the Kingston Police Department with lunch and dinner.

"Maryann’s actions are greatly appreciated and don’t go unnoticed. The men and women of the Kingston Police Department want to thank Maryann DeGroodt for her generosity and thoughtfulness," the Kingston Police Department wrote on Facebook. "Thank you Maryann for all you do! Stay safe!"

The Kingston High School graduate also provides other local first responders with free meals on the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, according to the Kingston Police Department.

"You are welcome, DeGroodt commented on the Kingston Police Department Facebook post recognizing her generous actions. "I truly appreciate all you men & women who do the job you do! God bless you all & keep you all safe!
