A Hudson Valley teenager was jailed after police say he stole $300 sneakers and more in two home burglaries.

Liberty police began an investigation into a report of a burglary at a home on July 14. Police allege that a 16-year-old from Liberty committed the crime.

As police investigated the teenager further they accused him of another home invasion in Liberty on Aug. 2. A pair of $300 basketball sneakers reported missing following the second burglary were found in the 16-year-old's possession by police, authorities said.

The unnamed 16-year-old boy was charged with second-degree burglary, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

He was arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and remanded to Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $750 bail.
