A Hudson Valley teenager has been charged in a fatal hit-and-run-crash on the Saw Mill Parkway that may have happened during a drag race.

Early Monday morning, Zachary Dunn, 18, of Yonkers was killed and his passenger injured after his car broke down and an Acrua TSX rear-ended Dunn’s vehicle under the McLean Avenue Bridge on the Saw Mill Parkway.

Police say the occupants of the other vehicle then ditched the Acura and fled in a third car.

A police investigation identified that 19-year-old Junior Silverio-Ventura, of Yonkers as the driver of the Acura. He was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle accident.

According to CBS, witnesses told police they saw cars driving wildly and believe they may have been drag racing.

Police believe at least two other cars and around nine other people were involved, CBS reports. Investigators are questioning 8 others, who could face charges.

Dunn graduated from high school in June and was expected to start college at SUNY Westchester Tuesday.
