Hudson Valley Teacher Dies

A Hudson Valley teacher, coach and father of two suddenly died.

Greg Diamond, 29, died late Saturday night, according to Spackenkill Superintendent Mark Villanti.

Diamond taught math at John Jay East Fishkill and Roy C. Ketcham. The Spackenkill High School graduate was the Spackenkill junior varsity boys’ basketball head coach. His wife is a teaching assistant in Dutchess County and the Spackenkill varsity volleyball coach. Diamond is the father of two young boys.

“Those of you who know Greg and his family will find this tragic loss of life painful,” Villanti said in an email obtained by Hudson Valley Post. “We grieve for his parents, Cassie, and his young family and friends.”
