Hudson Valley Rita’s Location Won’t Be Opening This Spring

A Hudson Valley Rita's Italian Ice location won't be opening this spring, leaving local customers searching for alternatives. The Rita's in Hyde Park had a for sale sign out in front earlier this winter, and now the news is official.

Thankfully, although unconfirmed at this time, a new business is set to take it's place. Route 9G Grill will reportedly feature wraps, sandwiches and burgers to go along with ice cream and other deserts.

Each year on the first day of spring, Rita's offers up free Italian Ice! Last year they gave away almost a million free cups over a nine hour period. Update: Despite still being listed on the Rita's website, the New Windsor location announced they were closing down as of last fall.
