James Earl Jones will return to the Star Wars franchise as the voice of Darth Vader. Entertainment Weekly confirmed he will be appearing in the new Rouge One film set for release later this year. The new series is set to follow the story of a band of rebels who must steal the design plans for the Death Star.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy confirmed the return in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. They asked if any characters from the original trilogy could turn up in the new films. After hesitating, she let the cat out of the bag.

I think we can talk about Vader…

As far as how large of a role Jones has, remains to be seen. But the rumors state we'll be seeing a far more viscous Vader than in previous movies.

Jones has visited the radio stations here at 2 Pendell Rd many times over the years. His grandchildren attended Poughkeepsie Day School and he came in to voice the commercial for their annual fundraiser several years in a row. His contract strictly forbid us from using any outtakes or other audio without his permission. He was a true professional and very kind to everyone He told us several funny stories before taking pictures with everyone then headed out.
