Hudson Valley Mourns 2 Police Officers
Local police in Ulster and Orange counties are mourning the loss of two longtime police officers.
On Sunday, Robert “Skip” Dooley passed away at the age of 69. He was less than a month away from turning 70, reports the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
“Skip was a loving devoted husband and father who retired from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in 2011,” the sheriff’s fffice posted on their Facebook page. “Skip loved the K9 unit and during his career he handled two dogs for the agency "Bear" and "Dano".”
On Tuesday, the Ulster County Sheriff's Office announced the untimely passing of retired officer Dwain Cauntiz.
Dwain served in the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Division for 28 years as a corrections officer and then as a K9 officer.
“Dwain will be missed and always remembered,” the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office posted on their Facebook page.
