Hudson Valley Officer Charged With DWI
A Hudson Valley corrections officer is accused of driving over two times the legal limit of intoxication.
On Friday around 7 p.m., deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call for an erratic vehicle.
Deputies later allegedly observed the vehicle fail to use its turn signal on Samsonville Road in the Town of Rochester.
A further investigation revealed that the driver, 37-year-old Eric V. Decker of Kerhonkson, was driving while in an intoxicated state, police say.
The off-duty Ulster County corrections officer was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood alcohol content in excess of .18 %, misdemeanors, and undisclosed vehicle and traffic violations.
Decker was released with an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Rochester Court at a later date.
