When you rent a U-Haul for your move, you must return it! Common sense, right? Well not so, for one Hudson Valley man.

According to Saugerties Police, on Dec 22, 32-year-old Casey L. Fellows rented a U-Haul Van from the Ulster County Self Storage Center located at Kings Highway, in the Town of Saugerties.

The Catskill man signed a contract with the U-Haul center to use the vehicle for three days, police say. However, Fellows allegedly failed to return the vehicle, as scheduled to do so, on Dec. 25.

On Tuesday, a U-Haul representatives reported the van stolen to the Saugerties Police Department.

Officers conducting the investigation found the U-Haul van parked behind a residence off Second Street in the Village of Saugerties, officials say.

Fellows was soon found and arrested. He was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor.

Fellows was processed at police headquarters and released upon the issuance of an appearance ticket, returnable to the Town of Saugerties Court on Feb. 8.
