A Hudson Valley man who allegedly had a 2-year sexual relationship with a child admitted to sexually abusing the child.

On Friday in Ulster County Court, 27-year-old Daniel Mikalonis of Kerhonkson was sentenced to seven years in prison following his guilty plea of a criminal sexual act.

He also will be required to register under the New York State Sexual Offender Registration Act for a minimum of twenty years and an Order of Protection was issued in favor of the victim until 2044.

In 2018, Mikalonis admitted in he engaged in oral sex with a 14-year-old in June 2015. He was arrested in September 2017 after an investigation by New York State Police in Ellenville.

The investigation revealed Mikalonis was involved in a two-year sexual relationship with a girl, starting when she was 14-years-old and Mikelonis 24, police say.
