A Hudson Valley man who ran out of gas while driving in the local area was arrested for allegedly possessing a lot of marijuana.

On Sunday just after midnight, a Putnam County Sheriff's Office deputy noticed a vehicle stopped diagonally across Peekskill Hollow Road with its hazard lights on.

The driver, Thomas V. Disieno, 36, of Yorktown Heights, told the officer he ran out of a gas. During the interview, the deputy could smell marijuana coming from the car, police say.

A computer check with the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles revealed that Disieno's driver's license was suspended, according to police.

Five vacuum sealed bags, containing over five pounds of alleged marijuana, along with 35 packages of alleged concentrated cannabis oil for use in vaping devices, were recovered from the car, officials say.

Disieno was charged with criminal possession of marijuana, criminal possession of a controlled substance, both felonies and traffic violations.
