Two woman from the Hudson Valley are accused of stealing several mail packages.

On Monday around 9:45 p.m., City of Beacon Patrol Officers spotted a vehicle on Tompkins Avenue in the City of Beacon that fit the description of a car that was seen stealing a number mail packages across Dutchess County, throughout the month of November.

The driver, 22-year-old Naszhonique S. Johnson-Marshall, of Beacon, and the passenger, 20-year-old Desha Marie Epps of Newburgh, also fit the description of the suspects that were spotted stealing the mail packages in the City of Beacon and Town of Fishkill, police say.

Johnson-Marshall and Epps were taken into custody and interviewed by the City of Beacon Detective Bureau. It was soon determined that both were involved with the thefts of several stolen mail packages, authorities allege.

A follow-up investigation led to the recovery of a number items that were reports stolen by numerous City of Beacon residents, officials say.

Both were charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and sixth-degree conspiracy, misdemeanors. Epps was given an additional misdemeanor charge for petit larceny.

Johnson-Marshall was processed and released with an appearance ticket. She is due in Beacon City Court at a later date. Epps was remanded to Dutchess County Jail on $2,500 cash or bond bail.
