A Hudson Valley business was a target of a nation wide threat.

The Monroe Police Department shared a statement on Thursday, December 13th regarding a bomb threat that was received. At 5:50pm  on Wednesday the Monroe Police Department received a call regarding a possible bomb threat at a business located on Maple Avenue in Monroe.

Monroe Police explained the situation stating "An email was received by the owner of that business which indicated that there was a bomb that was placed in his office during the day."

While police recognized this threat as part of a nation wide scam that has been "reported with hundreds of businesses" they still took it as a serious threat. Police shut down road near the business and evacuated the building and nearby residence.

With help from the Village of Goshen Police Department's explosive detection K9, the building was deemed safe as no explosives were detected.
