Hudson Valley Brewery to Light 22-Ft Beer Keg Tree for Christmas

A huge tree made out of beer kegs won't be the only thing lit this Saturday night.

The Hudson Valley has some strange and interesting holiday traditions. Of course there's Eggbert, the holiday egg that listens to children's Christmas wishes in New Windsor. And now Beacon has their own menorah made out of bicycles.

Another wacky tradition is brewing in the lower Hudson Valley area this week and will officially be unveiled on Saturday.

The Yonkers Brewing Company is erecting a 22-foot Christmas tree made entirely out of beer kegs. The tree is located right in front of the brewery in downtown Yonkers and will be available for everyone to see this weekend.

Unlike the Rockefeller Christmas tree lighting, you won't see the Rockettes doing their high kicks or Al Roker making silly jokes. Instead, a lighting ceremony will take place in front of the brewery at 6pm. While the ceremony is advertised as kid-friendly, we can only assume the after party inside the brewery will be more adult oriented.

Some may wonder what Santa would leave under a tree made entirely of kegs. We can only hope the answer to that question is "more beer."
