Howard E. Yeomans, A Kingston Resident, Dies at 81

Howard E. Yeomans, 81, of Kingston,NY and formerly of Hopewell Junction, NY passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Kingston Hospital. Born in Poughkeepsie,NY on December 4, 1935, he was the son of the late Howard S. and Ellen M. Pascoe Yeomans.
On April 27, 1957 in Syracuse, NY, Howard married Mary L. Hughes. Mrs. Yeomans resides at home in Kingston.
Mr. Yeomans was employed at IBM in E. Fishkill from 1967 – 1993 when he retired. Howard served his country with the US Air National Guard from 1954 – 1995 as a First Sergeant. He was a member of American Legion Post #1748 in Hopewell Junction. An Eagle Scout, Howard was very active with The Boy Scouts for more than 60 years where he was Cub Master and Scout Master. He also earned his Wood Badge Beads and was awarded the Silver Beaver Award. He enjoyed playing golf and woodworking.
In addition to his wife Mary, Howard is survived by his children; Lynn Sykes of Kingston,NY, Lois Galizia and husband Peter of Denton,TX, and Brian Yeomans  and his wife Danielle of Fort Worth, TX; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Bradford S. Yeomans and wife Georgia of  Syracuse,NY and Brian T. Yeomans of Janesville,WI; and several nieces and nephews. Howard was predeceased by his son in law, Robert Sykes.
Visitation will be Friday, March 17 from 10 am – 12 noon at Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 900 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Funeral services will follow from the funeral home at 12 noon. Interment will be in Fishkill Rural Cemetery. Memorial donations may me made in Howard’s memory to Paige’s Butterfly Run, P.O. Box 494, Baldwinsville,NY 13027 (www.pbrun.org) or Hudson Valley Council, BSA, 6 Jeanne Dr., Newburgh,NY 12550.
