A Highland man was arrested for allegedly stealing over $15,000 in unemployment benefits.

More and more people are being arrested for fraudulently collecting unemployment benefits. If you think that you're not going to get caught, you're as dumb as everyone thinks you are.

David Rosenblum, 63, of Highland was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny,  Falsifying Business Records, and Offering to False Instrument to File, all felonies.

An investigation conducted by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation revealed that between July of 2014 and January of 2015 as well as July of 2015 through January 2016, Rosenblum fraudulently received over $15,000 in unemployment insurance benefits when he was gainfully employed.

The New York State Police were assisted by the New York State Department of Labor.
