I didn't want to admit this, but I'm going to.

I've started playing Christmas music and putting up Christmas decorations. Nothing crazy, just a string of lights here and there and some festive pine tree smelling candles. If a Christmas song comes on shuffle I'm at the point where I won't press skip.

However, I have no comment if you ask me if I purchased the Hallmark Channel to watch every made for tv Christmas movie.

Some may say, I'm crazy. Others may be three steps ahead of me and have their Christmas tree up.

According to scientist people who put up Christmas decorations earlier are happier.

I knew it.

Yahoo.com shared a report from Psychoanalyst Steve McKeown and Unilad that states "In a world full of stress and anxiety people like to associate things that make them happy, and Christmas decorations evoke those strong feelings of the childhood." McKeown continues "“Decorations are simply an anchor or pathway to those old childhood magical emotions of excitement. So putting up those Christmas decorations early extend the excitement!”

Another study from the University of Utah and University of Temple say that decorating early is a way “communicate friendliness and cohesiveness with neighbors.”
