The Hudson Valley is full of airports, and some of them could definitely use an improvement. Thankfully, Governor Cuomo has announced plans to invest in our airports.

Yesterday, Governor Cuomo announced a plan to invest $20.5 million in New York Airports' infrastructure and safety in a press release. While the money isn't going only to the Hudson Valley, three airports in the region will receive money to fund construction.

Orange County Airport in Montgomery received a little over $1 million for a new corporate bulk hangar. Sullivan County International Airport got just under $500,000 to replace their fuel farm. And the Hudson Valley Regional Airport got about $70,000 to purchase a maintenance vehicle. The exact numbers are below.

  • $1,307,646 to Orange County Airport
  • $485,100 to Sullivan County International Airport
  • $70,470 to Hudson Valley Regional Airport

According to the release, this is a state-funded program with a goal to improve safety, create modern airports to be economically competitive, and create aeronautical jobs.
