Veterans Day is coming up this weekend and while there are several events going on throughout the Hudson Valley, one of them stands out from most.

According to IloveNY.com, the Franklin D Roosevelt Home National Historic Site will be hosting a Veteran Arts Showcase from November 17th through the 19th.

The showcase will run from 4:30pm until 8:30pm each day and is a free event to the public.

On Friday November 17th, the opening ceremony will kick things off starting at 5:30pm. Refreshments and hors d'oeuvres will be served and according to a press release there will be a "Presentation of Colors and Opening Remarks will be followed by civilian and veteran presentations, performances and reflections on service and reintegration."

The Veteran Art Showcase isn't just made up of visual arts, but performances as well. There will be writers, poets, musicians, and performers who are all currently active duty military, veterans or family members.

There will be performances by the Jerry the Bulldog and a Korean War Army Jeep on display.

Again this is a free event to support our local veterans while experiencing powerful art work.
