Free Car Washes For Hudson Valley Veterans

A local group of car washes will be providing free washes for Hudson Valley veterans this Friday in honor of Veterans Day. Foam & Wash Car Wash will be offering up this special for both active and retired members of the armed forces.

Veterans can stop by their Poughkeepsie, Newburgh, Fishkill and Wappingers Falls locations between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. to take advantage of the deal.

The Hudson Valley will be honoring local veterans this Friday with events all over the area. Members of the armed forces will also have a variety of local eating establishments to choose from to grab a free meal. For an updated list of those locations you can visit MilitaryBenefits.com.

The very first Veteran's Day was observed in 1938 and was originally known as Armistice Day. The foundation of the holiday was mainly to pay tribute to soldiers who served in WWI. But after WWII and Korean Wars, the  word 'Armistice' was dropped and replaced with 'Veteran's' to properly pay tribute to all soldiers. .
