An old strip mall is being given given new life thanks to a familiar name.

Those who've been living in the tri-state area for a while are probably familiar with the name Fortunoff. The furniture and jewelry store was founded back in the 1920s and gained popularity through the '80s and '90s. After some financial troubles, the company filed for bankruptcy in 2009 and all of their stores were eventually shuttered.

Soon after their bankruptcy, the Fortunoff family announced that they had purchased back their trademark brand and would be re-launching jewelry and outdoor furniture stores throughout the area.

The newest Fortunoff Outdoor Furniture store will be opening soon in Wappingers Falls on Route 9. A strip mall that was formerly occupied by Ski Haus, a check cashing store and Route 9 Discount Beverages has been remodeled to accommodate the new store.
