Best known as the director of Back To The Future and Forrest Gump, Robert Zemeckis is set to begin work filming a Hudson Valley based documentary adaptation starring Steve Carell.

Variety magazine reports Leslie Mann and Janelle Monae have been added to the cast which will tell the story of a Kingston man who suffers a brain injury after being beaten leaving a local bar. Mark Hogancamp went on to create 'Marwencol', a WWII era world made up of action figures as a means to help deal with his disability. A 2010 documentary sparked interest in the story after being shown at the Woodstock Film Festival.

According to the Hudson Valley Film Commission, this won't be the first time Zemeckis has filmed a documentary in the Hudson Valley. In 2015, he worked on the The Walk based on tightrope walker Philippe Petit, who walked between the World Trade Centers in 1974.
