Additional Information

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. -- The SUNY Orange Apprentice Players will perform “The End: An Apocalypse Anthology” this April in Orange Hall Theatre on the College’s Middletown campus.

“The End: An Apocalypse Anthology” is comprised of eight one act plays. Some say the world will end in fire, some say in ice.  Others have their money on a zombie apocalypse.  The eight plays tackle these and other questions with all sorts of answers and some questions of their own.

Under the direction of David Cohen, the student productions will showcase “This is How It Ends” by A. Rey Pamatmat, “La Reina de Los Angeles” by Jennifer Haley, “Apocalypse Apartments” by Allison Moore and “Promageddon” by Dan Dietz. The remaining four pieces, “The One About The Asteroid,” “The One That Ends Itself,” “La Muerte” and “The One They Call The Bloop” are written by Marco Ramirez.

The plays will enjoy a five-show run during the weekends of April 7-9 and 14-15.  Evening performances on Friday and Saturday, April 7-8 and 14-15 will begin at 7:30 p.m. with one Sunday matinee on April 9 set for 3 p.m. There will be a “talk back” with the actors and director immediately following the April 8 performance.

This eclectic collection of plays is a must-see for anyone seeking original, vibrant and ambitious theater. The theme of  “The End: An Apocalypse Anthology” is a little bit Book of Revelations, a little bit sexy punkishness, a little bit existential crisis, and a whole lot of fun. It runs the gamut from beautifully crafted personal dramas to meta-zombie flicks; from mystical beings awakened and angry to nuclear prom night shenanigans. The evening will take you from a zombie-infested Los Angeles, to a basement bunker beneath a John Hughes-style high school, to the very edge of existence, and back again. Come along for the ride! Content may not be suitable for young children. All children must have a ticket to enter the theatre. Cash, check or credit cards accepted.

The cast includes Jeremy Rudick, Shane Keller, Tavia Dean, Christina Polichetti, Jessica Rifflard, Jewel Sanchez, Olivia Cohen, Luke Rodriguez, Darren Blot, Felipe Gonzalez-Rocha and Anwar George.
