Chris Early, the principal percussionist with the Woodstock Chamber Orchestra and a classical marimbist, will team up with violist Anastasia Solberg as VIOLent PERseCution in a memorial benefit concert in honor of Cecily Fortescue, the late WJFF-FM classical radio DJ - the Queen of Dead Air - on Thursday, October 18 at 7:30pm at St. John's Episcopal Church in Ellenville.

"Chris and I will play 'Anastasia's Delight' by David Tcimpidis", says Solberg, "as well as Eric Golldberg's 'Warsaw Kaddish' and other original works."

All proceeds from the concert will go toward the Cecily Fortescue Scholarship Fund to help musical education of students unable to afford instruments and lessons at MISU, the Music Institute of Sullivan and Ulster in Ellenvile.

Tickets at the door are $15 for adults; seniors and students, $12; and children under 12, free.
