BOW, NH – Eva Zahensky, 84, a resident of Bow, NH since 2013, died on October 17, 2017 at home. She previously lived in Hopewell Junction, NY.

Born in Gorlice, Poland on January 19, 1933, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Dubchak) Kanisczak. Eva had been employed as a home healthcare provider for Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel for over 25 years until her retirement in 2011. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and exercising.

On November 13, 1954 in Yonkers, Eva married Paul J. Zahensky who predeceased her in 2013. She is survived by her son, Paul J. Zahensky and his wife Nancy of Concord, NH; her daughter, Patricia Maneri and her husband Geoff of Venice, FL; her grandchildren, Serena Olsen, Cheryl Anders and her husband Ross, Melissa Tollie and her husband Scottie, Denise Olsen, James Zahensky, Amy Zahensky, and Bradley Zahensky; and her great-grandchildren, Haylee Tollie and Blake Tollie. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her brother Andrew Kanisczak.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc.,1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10 am at SS Peter and Paul Church, 705 Shennandoah Ave, Peekskill, NY followed by burial at Rose Hills Memorial Park.
