A car that was pulled over for a traffic violation led to a DWI arrest for the driver and felony drug possession charge for the passenger. Police found crack-cocaine, ecstasy, and marijuana

On Saturday around 6:30 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on the New York State Thruway. The driver, 31-year-old Gregory Dubuisson, of Nyack, was found to be intoxicated and driving on a suspended license.

A test determined that Dubuisson’s blood-alcohol level was 0.18%. He was subsequently charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.

Dubuisson was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Clarkstown Court on March 14.

During the traffic stop, the passenger 35-year-old Shantik T. Smith, from Bronx, was found to be in possession of crack-cocaine, ecstasy, and marijuana.

Smith was charged with 5th-degree criminal possession of a control substance, felony, 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor, and a violation of unlawful possession of marijuana.

Smith was arraigned before the Town of Clarkstown Court and remanded to the Rockland County Jail without bail.
