A Dutchess County man allegedly stole a wallet from a parked car at a local elementary school.

Recently, the Red Hook Police Department responded to Mill Road Elementary School for a report of a wallet that had been stolen from a car during student pick up.

Following a week-long investigation, 32-year-old Zarchary S. Couse of Red Hook was charged with grand larceny, a felony.

During the course of the investigation, Couse was interviewed and admitted to stealing the wallet from a vehicle that was parked outside of the Mill Road Elementary School, police say.

Couse was processed and is due to appear in Town of Red Hook court on September 28.
