A Pawling man allegedly showed up to his DWI court date intoxicated.

I may not know too much, but I do know that you shouldn't show up to court for a pending DWI charge while you're intoxicated.

On Tuesday, Matthew S. Paul, 43, of Pawling arrived at the Town of the LaGrange court for a proceeding on a pending DWI charge, and at the time appeared to be in an alleged intoxicated condition.

Deputies present in the court warned Mr. Paul not to drive after the proceeding, however he elected to do so anyway and was subsequently arrested.

Deputies from the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office arrested Paul and scharged him with DWI, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, both felonies, due to prior DWI convictions.

Mr. Paul was arraigned in the Town of LaGrange Court and remanded to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail, or $5,000 bond.
