A Dutchess County man was arrested for his alleged involvement in two local burglaries.

Jason D. Garrett, 21, of Pleasant Valley was charged with two counts of burglary, criminal mischief, and grand larceny, all felonies.

According to police, in the early morning hours on June 28 the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and Town of Poughkeepsie Police both investigated commercial burglaries. One at a the Village Restaurant in Pleasant Valley and the other at a Town of Poughkeepsie the Valero gas station on Main Street.

Police say both businesses were forcibly entered. Nothing was taken from the restaurant. The cash register and cigarettes were allegedly stolen from the gas station.

An investigation by authorities led to Garrett being developed as the suspect for both burglaries. The stolen items were not found when Garrett was arrested.

Garrett was arraigned at the Town of Pleasant Valley Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond for the Sheriff’s Office charges, and $20,000 cash $40,000 bond for Town of Poughkeepsie charges.
