A famous drummer for a pop rock group from the 1960’s who lived in Dutchess County has pass away.  George Cameron, was the drummer for the pop act called The Left Banke.  The announcement was made by founding guitarist of the group, Tom Finn on his Facebook page.  According to the website, obitree.com, Cameron died Sunday, June 24, 2018 from cancer at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City.  George Cameron was 70.

The Left Banke were best know for their 1967 hit “Walk Away Renee.”  The group has recently been rehearing’s together for some possible shows.  Their last reunion shows were in 2011 and 2012.  The Left Banke played the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, here is a copy of an interview conducted with them.

Services for George Cameron will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home in Hopewell Junction.  Visitation will be Thursday, June 28, from 4pm to 8pm.  The funeral will be at St. Denis Cemetery in Hopewell Junction Friday, June 29 at 11am.
