David J. Idema of Wallkill, an auto repair shop manager with the Donation Vehicle Program in Newburgh entered into rest on Saturday, March 18, 2017. He was 52.

Son of David Idema & the late Mary (Brown) Idema he was born January 23, 1965 in Poughkeepsie. He is survived by his wife Heather T. (DePew) Idema. They were married November 12, 2006.

David an area resident since 2010, coming from Dutchess County, was an avid car enthusiast!

Survivors in addition to his wife, Heather at home include his father, David of Poughkeepsie; his children, Devin Idema of Poughkeepsie, Toby and Tori Idema at home, Molly DePew of Wallkill, Taylor and Zachary Mott both of Kingston; sister and brother in law Shontae and Troy Swain of Wappingers Falls. He is also survived by his nieces Chole, Briel and nephew Daniel. As well as three half-sisters.

Private cremation has taken place at Cedar Hill Crematory.

Memorial visitation for family and friends will take place from 5 to 8pm, Thursday, March 23rd at White, Venuto & Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 North Plank Road (Route 32) Newburgh. Funeral service will follow at 8pm. The Rev. John Vondras will officiate.

In lieu of flowers donations are requested for David's children Toby and Tori's educational fund.
