An accident on the Mid Hudson Bridge is causing a traffic nightmare this morning.

Commuters traveling in and out of Poughkeepsie on Wednesday morning were met with significant traffic backups. A crash on the eastbound side of the bridge has brought traffic to a standstill.

Hudson Valley traffic reporter, Nancy Reamy, says the crash has caused delays on the eastbound lanes that go all the way back to the Highland toll booths. Travelers heading out of Poughkeepsie are dealing with traffic snarls back to Church Street. The backups are also starting to affect traffic on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie as cars wait to exit near the bridge.

It's not clear when the traffic will clear up. Stay tuned to 101.5 WPDH for live updates and be sure to download our free mobile app for the latest traffic and news alerts.. We will update this page if any more information becomes available.
