Poughkeepsie Mayor Rob Rolison is inviting the community to the 1st anniversary of "Poughkeepsie's First Friday".

Starting on April 7th at 5 p.m. in front the Bardavon 1869 Opera House on Market Street, the event will feature live music, restaurant specials and local promotions lasting into the Poughkeepsie night. Rolison will also be initiating a community cleanup first proposed by WPDH personality Robyn Taylor; the "7 Minute Cleanup".

Proposed by Taylor and embraced by Rolison, the concept is to have Poughkeepsie residents commit to spending 7 minutes cleaning up their neighborhood. According to Rolison "you can do a lot in 7 minutes and this plan, when enacted, will make a tremendous impact in the cleanliness of the city".

Rolison recently told us why he loves the "7 Minute Cleanup" idea and how it will help Poughkeepsie.
