The license plates are now available in New York.

If you would like to help in increasing awareness of Childhood Cancer, New York has just announced that you will now be able to get a special license plate to show your support, according to WTEN.

If you don't know, cancer is the number one killer of children, teens, and young adults and something has to be done to change that.

The Department of Motor Vehicle has released the plates for both passenger and commercial vehicles and will cost around $85 for a 2 year standard registration and around $116 for the personalized option.

The DMV will donate $25 from each of the license plates directly to the Cure Childhood Cancer Research Fund.

If you are due to re-register you car or truck and want to get these plates, you can get them a few different ways: stop into any DMV office, check out their website, by mail or you can call them Monday through Friday at (518) 402-4838 between 8 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
