Police are warning residents and hoping for help after a child was nearly kidnapped while walking his dog in the Hudson Valley.

On Saturday around 3 p.m., the Suffern Police Department received a report of a suspicious incident in the Foxwood area of Suffern.

A child claims a dark colored vehicle, possibly a sedan, pulled up next to him and a female passenger told him to get in the car as the child walked his dog near his home, police say.

The child whose age wasn't released immediately ran back to his home and told his parents what happened. His parents then called the police.

The incident is under investigation. If anyone has any additional information please call the Suffern Police Department at 845-357-2300.
