Unfortunately, we're in a time right now where situations across the United States make is hard for the public to trust law enforcement officers.

Some police forces around the states do what they can to change the outlook on officers in their neighborhoods. One Hudson Valley town is doing the same.

The Monroe Police Department in Orange County is hosting "Coffee with a Cop" on Saturday, April 28th.

According to a Facebook post, the Monroe Police Department is giving community memebers a "chance to meet our officers, get to know them and ask questions. Members of the newly formed Community Policing Unit will be on hand."

"Coffee with a Cop brings police officers and the community members they serve together over coffee to discuss issues and learn more about each other" the Facebook post states. There will be no speeches or lectures, just a set time to have a cup of coffee and discuss current issues that may be on your mind with local law enforcement

Coffee With a Cop will be held at the McDonald's at 501 RT 17M in Monroe from 10am until 12pm.
